With a 20 year history of successfully cleaning in excess of 300 Athletics tracks and over 100 water-based Hockey pitches, the Replay AQUATRAX® process is widely recognised as the ‘Best-in-Class’ for this type of process.
The Athletics tracks used for the 2012 London Olympics, 2014 Glasgow and 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, all benefitted from the exceptional cleaning delivered by the AQUATRAX® process.
Pressured Water Jets
Pressured Water Jets
The unique engineering of the machine combines high volume, low pressure cold water washing with vacuum extraction without the need for any abrasive chemicals.
Contamination is removed from the surface and stored in an onboard tank to ensure no cross-contamination, as there are no abrasive chemicals, waste water can usually be disposed of through foul water drains.
The AQUATRAX® clean will include:
• A first pass involving a ‘pre-wet’ phase
• A non-damaging cleaning phase with low-pressure, high-volume water jets
• An integrated vacuum extracting the contaminated water
• In most cases, two passes are sufficient to clean the surface, restore grip underfoot and improve performance
• The edges of tracks can be cleaned utilising a side arm attachment
• AQUATRAX® can also effectively clean track-side drainage systems. Only water is used, and therefore the waste can be discharged into a foul water drain
• Slot drain cleaning and moss pre-treatment can be included as part of your AQUATRAX® package if required

Tarmac, courts and tracks that are used for sports such as Tennis and Netball will accumulate dirt and dust, encouraging moss and algal growth. This not only affects the appearance of the facility but will also cause the surface to become slippery and hazardous underfoot.
It is therefore recommended that these types of surfaces should be washed and cleaned annually to help keep them safe and performing as they should.
Initially a bespoke high-volume, multi-nozzle pressure washer system is used to pre-wet and lift contaminants from the grain of the court surface.
Following this a multiple directional super-whirl deep-clean is carried out to soften, flush and move the contamination off the surface.
A final rinse of the surface is carried out using a combination of oscillating lances and a flat fan high-pressured spray system to turbo wash and ensure all contamination is effectively removed.

Rejuvenation
Replay Maintenance are the original purveyors of compressed air REJUVENATION. This process was originally introduced in the mid-90’s and since that time we have successfully rejuvenated over 500 pitches and 1,000 tennis courts, equating to nearly 4 million square metres of synthetic surfaces.
The Replay REJUVENATION process restores the drainage and performance of sand-filled & sand-dressed surfaces by means of a non-abrasive and no-aggressive removal and replacement of the infill within the surface.
As these surfaces age and weather, they trap and compact the dusts and dirt’s within the sand infill. This build up progressively reduces the porosity of the pitch/court, eventually ‘sealing’ the surface making it hard and impervious. Eventually in wet weather conditions the surface will flood and silt will be flushed up. This would create a slippery residue on the top rendering the facility unsafe and unusable.
The REJUVENATION process typically extends the life of a surface by 3 to 5 years so we can comfortably claim we’ve cumulatively added well over 5,000 extra years of usable life to the UK’s synthetic sports surfaces.
Suitable for sand dressed or sand filled surfaces
By utilising a combination of compressed air and plenum technology our Beaver extraction machinery can remove the contaminated and compacted infill from the surface. The REJUVENATION process allows the carpet fibres to be lifted and opened and then redressed with new, clean performance infill.
The results of the process is a surface with ‘as-new’ drainage, performance and extended life. All achieved at the fraction of the cost of a new surface!
